Pending Debit/Prepaid Credit Card Transaction Failure

We have a small percentage of people having problems with credit cards and purchases for: bling, vip, blasts, HH's, etc.

The problem is USUALLY associated to GIFT or PAY AS YOU GO Visa/MC debit card. For example: Walmart Gift Visa, Walgreens Gift Visa, TMobile Gift Visa, the list goes on. Some of you have a CC that is a pay as you go.

The problem we are having is that our merchant account has NO way to verify the security of the card user. Because of this, the card is denied. So, if you do not enter the correct phone number, mailing address, security code or 3 digit pin on the back, you will be declined and get an error message. This can ALSO happen with normal credit cards in some cases.

What will happ is your card is charged and shows a PENDING AUTHORIZATION on your card and it appears your funds have been removed. Unfortunately, and this is NOT our fault, the credit card company puts a hold on the funds. The funds will be restored to your card in 10-30 days. Yes, it will appear they are gone and show a charge to fubar. Reality is it is an AUTHORIZATION. You can look up AUTHORIZATION on google and read more about how they work. Unfortunately, there is NOTHING we can do.

Yes this is annoying and I apologize that many of you are getting caught up in this. Due to multiple fraud issues, we had to increase our security with our merchant account. We will NO Longer accept CC card unless you can verify the security information.

Ways around this?
1. Use a different credit card that is secured and is associated to your billing address, phone number, etc.
2. Use a paypal account
3. If you do use paypal and your IP is out of country and yet your account is in the country, you will be denied.
4. Use paypals credit card terminal. We have heard it works with most gift cards.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me. Also, please realize your funds are not gone. They are sitting in with a bank hold and will be restored to you. If you do have a receipt that shows where transactions for payments have gone through, please forward me the receipt.

We know you wise fubarians are always looking for a way to maximize your fubar experience. With that in mind, we have brought in twitter to compliment your account. Next to your status, you will see a link to your twitter account. Using this you can quickly update twitter along with your status; helping to bring people back to your fubar page and giving you a broader reach to communicate your message! The opportunities are endless! Bring in your peeps, advertise your new photos, ask for leveling help, etc……it has all just gotten easier and faster. On top of that, we will also be running promos on the fubar twitter account that you can access only from there. There are so many ways that twitter can compliment your fubar account, and  I am certain you will be teaching us a few thing as soon as you get it wired!

Why do I need a another stinkin’ account?

Your twitter account should and will directly compliment your fubar page. Last week we activated the feature where you can update your status to twitter with one easy click. The following are ideas that I have seen fubar users utilize their twitter account for!

1. Promoting lounges
2. Asking for help to level
3. Professing love to another user
4. Promoting a contest
5. Begging for fubucks, rates, etc
6. Showing off new photos
7. Announcing an upcoming happy hour
8.  I know those wheels are turning….the next best idea is yours!

I don’t know anyone on twitter. Why would I just sign up if no one I know is there?

I can guarantee you that if you set up a twitter account right now and keyword search fubar, fubartweets or ilovefubar1, you will see all the usual suspects. I am absolutely certain they will be happy to follow you when you follow them.
How do I follow someone and what is the point?
Following people on twitter is a lot like being able to see alerts on fubar. You will then be able to follow their updates and see what they have to say. If you follow @fubartweets, you will get all the latest greatest news as it breaks!

What is a tweet?

A tweet is a 140 character message that you post. Basically it’s fancy jargon for you posting your message.

What is a re-tweet or RT?

This is a no brainer. People re-tweet other people’s messages. Because of the 140 character limit, RT is the call sign that the post is a re-tweet. Often times you will see RT @fubartweets ………… This just means the post is a Re-Tweet of fubarttweets.

What are all the stupid little signs for i.e. # @?

The @ sign when used in a tweet @fubartweets serves as a active link to your twitter page when you are on twitter. The # is a hashtag and will helps people find you when they do a keyword search. I always hashtag #fubar when I post. You may want to hashtag #fubar and then @yourname to help people find you.

What is the friggin point! It just sounds like a bunch of extra work?

If you do not see the value in having a tool like twitter to help promote yourself or your cause, then maybe it is not for you. Your twitter page is a great place for you to drive more rates, meet new people or ask for whatever it is you need. The best comparison I can give is twitter is like a bulletin board on steroids. You choose what you want to see or who sees what. This is a great tool for those who have great ideas, know how to play the game and are leading the way.

Do  I use my phone or can  I use my computer?

This is the magic of twitter. You can use a mobile phone and a computer. Whatever tickles your fancy!

What is a link shrinker?

Often times you will see these crazy little shortened links. Because twitter only allows 140 characters, link shrinkers have become the norm. Don’t be scared of them. They will save your butt when you run out of space.
